Strange Things

China is a wonderful place. The people are so kind and helpful. However, some things here are just very different and strange. Take a look at this table of produce. This place was inside a mall at the food court. It looks great. So many things to put inside your soup. Now take a closer look at the food that looks like beef. To our surprise, it was not the muscle of an animal, but the blood. Yes, you read correctly, it's pig's blood! Now we asked the same question, how come it's solid? Well they freeze the blood, and it is now defrosting on this plate. Yum! Another thing that is very different, is the toilet. This picture is of a woman's stall. No toilet paper is allowed to be flushed so you must put what you use in the trash can. Notice there are no handles or bars to hold on to. The best way to use these are by squatting down almost as if you were to sit on the ground. Imagine the girls room with a row of toilets with out any doors or dividers....that is what it was like only a few years ago! Thank goodness we are here now, yeah for privacy!
