Rejni's Wedding

It's about time I write about the wedding of the century! Rejni has been one of my best friends since middle school. She is the most caring, considerate, organized, person I know. She planned every detail of the wedding. She was the lady in charge, and of course, it was spectacular!
Her wedding was in Indiana where she went to school and met Dave. Dave and Rejni met when Dave's mom signed him up for dancing lessons at Rejni's studio. The neat thing about her wedding was that it was down town Indiannapolis at the old Grand Train station. So litterally her entire wedding revolved around a train theme. I don't have any pictures of her Save the Date invitations but, they were "train tickets." to her wedding (so cleaver)! There were a lot of details to her wedding, and even though we both lost a lot of sleep due to some of her things not arriving on time, it was worth it all. Look at these welcome baskets she left in each of the hotel rooms for all the wedding party guests.

Rejni is half Indian. Her father has many siblings that live in the states, and over the years I have done many things with them. Over the years I have learned that a traditional Indian wedding takes three days. Luckily Rejni is only half Indian, so she chose her favorite parts of the traditions and incorporated them into her wedding. At the mendi her relatives wore beautiful saris and Rejni's dad gave Rejni an amazing 24K gold necklace (it's tradition to give gold for your daughter's wedding).

Also, at the mendi was the traditional henna tattoo. Most of the Indian weddings are pre-arranged. Usually, the groom's name is hidden in the henna design on hands and feet of the wife. It is said that the longer the henna stays on the darker the color will be. The darker the color the better relationship you will have with your Mother in-law.
